ALICE LORRAINE JEFFERSON

89, always known as "Lorraine" passed away on October 11, 2017 during the early evening hours after suffering a fall 10 days earlier. Her day of passing, we believe, was planned as it was her youngest son's (Stewart) birthday.

She was reunited with the angels and both of her sons, Stephen and Stewart as well as her daughter Shirley and the love of her life, her husband, Vernon. Hopefully she is reunited with her cat named Bear that loved her more than anyone.

Her daughter Susanne survives as well as two granddaughters, Blessing Worth and Bridgette Haig and four great-grandchildren; Mackenzie Miller, Allison Miller, Lance Firks, and Kaitlyn Hanak.

Lorraine was the oldest of five children born to Ralph and Theresa Alice Siples (Songer) on January 28, 1928. She lived primarily in Ft. Wayne, graduated from South Side High School and worked for a time at Lincoln Life before starting her family. During her retirement years, her and her husband traveled frequently to and from Lake Williams where they had a camper and quiet,

Her favorite holiday was the fourth of July and she loved the colors, lavender and yellow. She enjoyed her drives from anyone that would take her since she never learned to drive herself. Fortunately her last drive was to the lake that she and Vernon had spent so much time.

We will miss her for now, until we reunite again.
