WALTER J. ANKER

91, of Ft. Wayne, passed away Monday Nov. 13, 2017 at the Fort Wayne VA Hospital. He was born in Adams County., IN on Dec. 18, 1925. He was the son of the late Clara (Bieberich) and Ben Anker. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Pelfrey), son W. Brent Anker, and brother Arthur Anker.

He is survived by his daughter Brenda (Anker) Vargo; grandchildren , Seth Vargo, Elizabeth Vargo, Wade Vargo, Jennifer (Anker) Loman; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a hard working man that built two homes by hand all while working at Eckrich. After retirement he built a garage and barn. He and Gerry were longtime members of  Anthony Wayne First Church of God.

A graveside service will be held on Friday Nov. 17, 2017 at 10am in Lindenwood Cemetery 2324 W. Main St.. A luncheon will follow at the house.
