ALVENA M. MARTIN

82, of  Ft. Wayne, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2018 at Genesis New Haven Center. She was born Nov. 24, 1935 in Marietta OH to Virgil Erb, and Margaret Best Hasley.

She was a devoted Christian wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of New Horizons Fellowship and was known for her cheery smile and her double decker sandwiches.

She is survived by her sons Michael (Susie) and Mark (Dawn) Wilson; grandsons Jeremy (Amber) and Chad Wilson; great-grandson Miles Wilson; her sisters Mary Brown and Dolly Rutherford; her brother Richard (Kate) Wagner, and sister-in-law Anna Erb. She was preceded in death by her husband John Martin, her brother Virgil "Cricket" Erb, her parents and her infant brother David Erb.

Funeral service will be Saturday April 7, 2018 10 am at New Horizon Fellowship Church 1330 Werling Rd. New Haven IN. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
